HG Photoessays: Kuma's Corner

2900 W. Belmont
Chicago, IL

Kuma's corner is a hard grubbin paradise. Here at HG, we decided photos can tell the story of a recent trip to Kuma's better than words. Photos by Thomos.

  1. This post has at least 10 of my favorite things pictured.

  2. This is one of the rare occasions I would endorse a slide-show as a posting format.

I'm thinking these pictures stretched out, full screen with "The Afternoon" by The Moody Blues as the soundtrack. Also, lots of star wipes and fades to black.

  3. Isn't this the place where the burgers are named after metal bands?

  4. Yeah man, the buffalo chicken one is the "hatebeak," and the one with the grits on top is the Lynyrd Skynyrd.

  5. I laughed out loud at work looking at these, gettin' some glances from the fellow employees. The inhaler pic is a classic, but I also like the one where Ethan, while picking up his burger, looks like he's about to lift his end of the piano, and where Mazen looks more like he's making out with the burger than eating it. I have been known to grub hard on a Kaijo burger at Kuma's. Have also had dreams about it (at nighttime).
